Edel Spezial is Leibinger’s most tried and tested beer, carefully brewed using the best aromatic hops from the Tettnang area, quality barley from the region, and the purest spring water from the Alpine uplands. A bottom-fermented, full-bodied beer, characterized by its pleasantly mild taste. Beer connoisseurs have highly praised the golden-colored, full-bodied, malty beer with its subtly aromatic taste and are glad to recommend it.
Did you know? What’s important when you pour a glass of beer is how clean the glass is. Traces of detergents or grease can prevent the formation of a head. That’s why after washing your beer glass or stein, you should always rinse it with clear hot water first and again with cold water just before pouring the beer.
This version of our Edel Spezial is lighter, but still maintains the fully-matured taste of the original. It’s not just appreciated because of its reduced alcohol and calorie content, but also because of its full-flavored, mild aroma.
Did you know? Numerous international studies indicate that modest enjoyment of alcohol can even have a heart-friendly effect? A study conducted at the University of Münster discovered that this also applies to beer drinkers: Compared with people who are teetotal, beer drinkers suffer half as many heart attacks, independent of their age, weight and level of physical fitness. Quite a surprise, wouldn’t you say?
A bottom-fermented, full-bodied beer, lean and sparkly with a strong hops taste and a fine frothy head. It’s the aromatic Tettnang hops that gives Leibinger Edel Pils its distinctive hops bouquet and adds an unmistakable, dry-bitter aroma.
Did you know? It was Josef Groll (1813–1887) from Vilshofen in Lower Bavaria, who, on October 5, 1842, in the Bohemian town of Pilsen, brewed the first beer to be given the name Bohemia Pilsner? Its light color and particular hint of hops stand for a whole range today: Pils or Pilsner. By the way, the old German saying that a “good glass of draught pils takes 7 minutes to draw” is a myth. If a pils is poured in 2 to 3 minutes, it will continue to tingle on the tongue for another 10 to 15 minutes.
Aromatic and golden brown, this Dark Wheat Beer impresses connoisseurs with its robust, full-bodied taste. Slightly malty and flowery caramel overtones and a subtle fruityness entice the senses. With a good proportion of esters and stronger alcohols, this specialty has long been an insider’s tip among those who prefer a darker beer.
Did you know? A darker color does not mean that a beer contains more alcohol. The dark color comes from a special kind of malt used in the brewing process. Although this gives the beer a stronger taste, it doesn’t affect the alcohol content.
Top-fermented and brewed according to an old recipe from a brewery steeped in tradition, with a special combination of malted wheat and barley and a natural cloudiness, this Wheat Beer offers a refreshing taste and subtle yeast aromas.
It has plenty of character, a full body, and is therefore the perfect beer for every season. Everyone can individually determine how cloudy his or her beer gets when pouring. You can lightly shake up the residual yeast at the bottom of the bottle, or you can use up every last drop of it – whatever you prefer.
Did you know? Yeast does not only cause fermentation (it transforms the sugar in the wort into alcohol and carbon dioxide and produces warmth in the process), but also greatly influences the taste and character of the beer.
A top-fermented full-bodied beer with a fruity taste and lemony fragrance. Our Crystal Wheat Beer is a particularly popular refreshment during beer-garden season. So crystal clear, lively and pleasantly sparkling, it tastes great at any time of year.
Did you know? Wheat beer is a specialty from southern Germany. This type of beer is not so common in northern Germany, which is why North German beer aficionados (yes, it is rumored that they do exist) often rely on “imported” beer from the South.
Top-fermented and brewed from malted barley and wheat, the alcohol level in this wheat beer has been reduced by 40%. Lightly hopped, but with a wonderful aromatic malty taste, the Light Wheat Beer impresses with its subtly mild yet peppy sparkle. That’s why Leibinger’s Light Wheat Beer is increasingly appreciated as an alternative to the more common low-alcohol beers.
Did you know? It’s simply not true when people say that beer makes you fat. A normal pilsner, for example, has considerably fewer calories than whole milk.
The traditional shandy – Our tried and tested SEERADLER is now SEERADLER classic. The recipe and therefore the taste will be just as sparkling, lively and fresh as it always has been – a mixture of Brauerei Leibinger’s popular Edel Spezial and homemade lemonade.
Beer-based drink made from 50% Leibinger Edel Spezial and 50% sweetened lemonade.
Ingredients: Beer (water, malted barley, hops, hops extract), lemonade (water, sugar, carbon dioxide, acidifier citric acid, natural flavoring, antioxidant ascorbic acid)
The exotic shandy experience. SEERADLER plus is a refreshing, fruity and tangy shandy, combined from sparkling crystal wheat beer from Brauerei Leibinger with the refreshingly tangy taste of grapefruit lemonade.
Beer-based drink made from 50% crystal wheat beer and 50% grapefruit-flavored soft drink, fruit content: 3%
Ingredients: Wheat beer (water, malted wheat, malted barley, hops, hops extract), water, sugar, grapefruit*, lemon* and orange juice*; carbon dioxide, acidifier citric acid, natural flavoring, lemon and orange extract, antioxidant ascorbic acid, colorant E120, stabilizer, carobin
* from concentrate
The ideal refreshment for the physically active connoisseur. Like the SEERADLER classic, SEERADLER aktiv is made from Leibinger’s Edel Spezial and lemonade. Because of the reduced sugar content, this sparkling fresh shandy is less sweet and very refreshing, with a hint of citrus adding that extra freshness.

The winter beer from Brauerei Leibinger is left to take its time to mature at low temperatures of about –2°C and therefore has a particularly smooth flavor. The Winter Spezial combines the warm mildness of an ale with the piquancy of a bottom-fermented beer and drinks like fire and ice, winter and summer, all in one.
Did you know? In centuries past, it was quite common for people to drink warm beer. The taverns had open fireplaces where people would hang up iron sticks, the so-called picks. The hot picks were then dipped into the freshly poured beer, with the result that the residual sugar in the beer caramelized. This process, often called pricking, gave the beer a special flavor.
And because people often don’t want to leave the house to enjoy their beer during the winter months, here’s another tip for people who like a drink in the comfort of their own home: For everyone who likes to drink beer in front of the television, Philips has produced a remote control that can also be used as a bottle opener.
MAX – say [maeks], please! The special combination of hops, malted barley and wheat. A subtle and sparkly taste. And very trendy in a slim white-glass 0.33 l bottle.
Ideal for beer connoisseurs who don’t want to go without. Alcohol-free beer is an ideal refresher after any form of physical exercise and the perfect beer for drivers. Just like any other beer, the alcohol-free beer is brewed according to the German Purity Law and has the same high quality of flavor as our other Leibinger beers.
Did you know? To reduce the alcohol content as much as possible, brewers have developed two different methods. One is to curtail the formation of alcohol during the fermentation process, the other is to remove the alcohol from the beer after the brewing process has been completed. And this doesn’t affect the taste at all. Try it yourself!
A special beer for connoisseurs: Zeppelin beer is a naturally cloudy, unfiltered specialty beer. It’s a so-called cellar beer; its natural cloudiness and the finest ingredients from the Lake Constance area make Zeppelin beer a heavenly experience.
